Cynthia Garlett

Eldercare Coordinator

Cynthia Garlett is an Elder Care Connector who is Ballardong Goreng Yorga currently living in Perth. Her mother is from Tammin in the Wheatbelt and her father from Gnowangerup in the Great Southern. Both her parents were Stolen Generation and have now passed. Working with Yokai helps to heal her spirit.

She has lived in Roebourne, Kalgoorlie, Esperance and now Perth. She knows people from those places both young and old and has formed friendships and connections, being very grateful for the experiences over those years. This has made her who she is, a strong proud Noongar Woman.

Cynthia is thankful for the opportunity to join the Yokai team, Western Australia Stolen Generation Aboriginal Corporation and looks forward to helping Elders navigate the My Aged Care Support System.

As an Elder Care Connector, she understands the need for Elders to be looked after.

Cynthia looks forward to helping to ensure they are safe, happy, healthy, with respect for their dignity and continuing their legacy for their families and community.
